The Department of Computer and System Science (DSV) is one of Sweden’s oldest departments within IT and is Stockholm University’s largest department. SPIDER (the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) is an independent center  of enablement at the Department of Data and System Science (DSV), Stockholm University that focuses on digitalisation of international development cooperation. We are now looking for a program manager within our research unit who wants to work in an international environment. Are you interested in aid work, digital technology and enjoy new challenges? Main responsibilities

• Responsible Research Manager for capacity development in our EU-funded projects with a focus on patient data, digitalisation of epidemiological information through collaboration with interested organisations.
• Responsible for developing course material in various health areas.
• Research manage assigned projects.
• Handle bilateral collaborations with partner countries.
• Plan, administer, follow up results of the research part of our projects and evaluate new partnerships.
• Communicate research results at various events and to different groups.
• Budget follow-up and reporting of research project collaborations including the annual audits.
• Represent SPIDER in various national and international events.
• Arrange public events, lectures and conferences.

Other duties include working with overall budget planning and future vision for SPIDER. It is also desirable that the research manager participates in our preparation of applications for other funding routes. Furthermore, the research manager will also participate in the development of our thematic areas and, together with the other program managers, will have close contacts with researchers and other organisations important to the field, nationally as well as internationally. Additional tasks are added in collaboration with other program managers and are linked to the SPIDER’s mission. Other administrative duties within the center may occur. International work trips occur.

Qualification requirements
Requirements

• Doctoral degree in a relevant field and good scientific competence in development research
• Knowledge and Experience in aid and development issues.
• Experience in writing and editing scientific texts.
• Good communication skills and you express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Experience of capacity development within public health systems.

Merits

• Experience of coordination work (preferably as a project manager).
• Experience in establishing strategic decision bases.
• Documented experience of research work in the field.
• Documented experience of handling development projects as well as practical experience of digitalisation.
• Experience in creating, analysing and evaluating strategic documents in health system development.

To succeed in the role of research manager at SPIDER, you need to be interested in aid issues and digital health technology. We see that you are meticulous and structured and have great integrity and diplomatic skills. Furthermore, you enjoy working with complex issues where you analyse and solve complicated problems. Great emphasis will be placed on personality.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, temporary employment for 12 months. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary. Start date immediately.
