Development agencies unite for responsible funding in Digital Health
SPIDER is one of 30 Development Funders to launch the Digital Investment Principles
Berlin, Germany — 16 October 2018 — On Tuesday, 30 major funders launch the Digital Investment Principles, also known as the Principles of Donor Alignment for Digital Health. The Digital Investment Principles further strengthen the Principles for Digital Development by encouraging funders to prioritise national eHealth plans and building chains for investment for sustainable health systems.
“For us to reach the goals of Agenda 2030, specifically the goals for Health, it is imperative that all parties are ready to build capacity internally and align to national and regional efforts to build systems for sustainable development and collaborate beyond traditional boundaries. SPIDER has proudly helped to spearhead the development of the Digital Investment Principles alongside some of the most impactful international development funders and we are proud to be at the launch today, hoping that this is a momentous time for digital international development. We remain open to, and ready to involve other sectors beyond health to join in this collaborative initiative.” Dr. John Owuor, Director – SPIDER.
